According to Bing.com, being holy means to have a relationship with God defined by obedience to His will and being
shaped to have His character. 1 Peter 1:16 NIV says, ” for it is written: ” Be holy, because I am holy.” We often time
define holiness with our appearance. The old church in my mother and grandmother’s day and age use to associate
holiness’ with wearing long skirts and turtlenecks to hide skin which keeping the male species from being tempted. That
could be further from the truth. Holiness is a heart posture towards God. According to Bing.com, righteousness is
defined as, or rectitude is the quality or state of being morally correct and justifiable. It can be considered
synonymous with “rightness” or being “upright” or to-the-light and visible. Proverbs 21:2 NIV says,” A person may think
their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.” So being holy and righteous is a heart posture.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for showing us what true holiness and righteousness is. Create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us. We want to be without blemish and spot in Your eyes. Help us to always have a heart after Yours. In Jesus name, Amen!!!!!
